Saturday morning I leave for a trip to the sea. A lifelong ambition of mine has been to visit Cape Cod. This is the year and I'm really excited and full of anticipation for a week of fun and adventure. :)
My traveling companion is a cousin - brave enough to go with me. What a trip we have planned. 5 days on the cape with day trips to Martha's vineyard - renting bikes there to tour the island; Woods Hole - to see the Oceanographic Institute; Provincetown - to shop in the artist's colony; and shopping and relaxing by the sea. We'll be leaving on the fifth day to drive to Boston. Stopping for breakfast in Plymouth and to see the "rock". That evening we have tickets to see "Wicked" at the Boston Opera House. The next day we are taking a tour. We'll see Lexington-Concord, where the Minutemen marched, lunch and shopping in Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. A trolley tour of the city of Boston followed by an afternoon tour by boat of Boston Harbor. Seven hours total. We have reservations at Legal Seafood for dinner with a table by the window with a harbor view. The next morning we fly home.. My souvenir will be a clock to sit in a place of honor on top of the bookcase I inherited from my grandfather. There is a clock shop in Sandwich, MA - on the cape - but I might find the perfect clock anywhere on this trip. I'll have it shipped home from there and not try to carry it on a plane. I'm having trouble sleeping already! :)
